Magee Ranch Area

Several developments along Blackhawk Road, between Mt. Diablo and the Sycamore Valley Open space offer homes ranging from 2500-6000 square feet. Magee Ranch, the largest of the developments, was built by Broadmore Homes in 1992 – 1998.

The Magee Preserve project will introduce 69 new single family homes and 381 acres of dedicated open space.

Lots range between 1/4 acre and 1/2 acre, many backing to open space or featuring views. Home values along Blackhawk Road begin in the low $2,000,000s and may exceed $5,000,000.

Interesting facts:

• Since 1949 the Magee family operated originally 1200 acres of cattle, sheep and walnut farms. Portions were sold off throughout the years for residential development and permanent open space.
• In the 1970s when loose cattle roamed down Diablo Road, residents alerted the local fire station of the breech. Hap would come down and lasso them back to the ranch.
