Danville Neighborhood - Magee Ranch Area

Several developments along Blackhawk Road, between Mt. Diablo and the Sycamore Valley Open space offer homes ranging from 2500-6000 square feet. Magee Ranch, the largest of the developments, was built by Broadmore Homes in 1992 – 1998.

The Magee Preserve project will introduce 69 new single family homes and 381 acres of dedicated open space.

Lots range between 1/4 acre and 1/2 acre, many backing to open space or featuring views. Home values along Blackhawk Road begin in the low $2,000,000s and may exceed $4,000,000.

Interesting facts:

Since 1949 the Magee family operated originally 1200 acres of cattle, sheep and walnut farms. Portions were sold off throughout the years for residential devlopment and permanent open space.
In the 1970s when loose cattle roamed down Diablo Road, residents alerted the local fire station of the breech. Hap would come down and lasso them back to the ranch.
The proposed development of the remaining 410 acres is currently a hot topic in Danville.
