What was once a poorly maintained two-lane road connecting Danville to "the country," is the current Camino Tassajara. It is in a large valley flanked by the Sycamore Valley Regional Open Space. Sycamore Creek parallels Camino Tassajara. Long stretches along the creek have been paved, creating an all season path that offers spectacular views of wildlife, birds, and seasonally blooming wildflowers. There was tremendous development in this area from the mid 1980's through the late 1990's. National and regional developers such as Davidon, Shapell, Ponderosa and Braddock & Logan recognized the natural beauty of the area. There was fierce competition for the land.
During this development period, and partly attributable to it, home values in Danville more than doubled.
There are a few townhome developments along Camino Tassajara offering homes that start in the mid $1,200's, but the predominant homes are 2000-4000 square feet with values from $2,000,000 to $3,500,000. Off of Old Blackhawk Rd is Northridge Estates, another of Danville's destination neighborhoods. In it are custom and semi-custom homes from 3500 to 7000 square feet. Northridge Estate homes routinely sell for more than $3,000,000.
