The southeastern portion of Town, along East Camino Tassajara, is home to both Danville's newest subdivisions and its oldest and largest ranches. As home development moved eastward along Camino Tassajara, the construction of schools, retail, shopping, and entertainment centers soon followed. Within Blackhawk Plaza, and across the street at Tassajara Crossing Shopping Center, are restaurants (fast to gourmet), movie theaters, grocery stores, medical & dental offices, boutiques, and even an auto museum.

In contrast to the newer homes on smallish lots are the ranches that still thrive in the area, several offer horse boarding and equestrian training.

The oldest subdivisions were built in the mid 1980's and there is ongoing new construction. Attached homes in the area start in the mid $900's to $1,500,000. Detached homes in the area typically are 2000-4000 square feet on lots ranging from 5000-15,000 square feet with prices in the mid $2,000,000 to $3,500,000. Most of the neighborhoods have parks, greenbelts, and homeowner association swimming pools.
